Join us this summer at your local library for Summer Reading 2025: Color Our World! Kick off the fun at our Kickoff Party on Saturday, June 28th at 11 AM at either branch, where you can sign up for the program and start your reading adventure! Sign-ups will continue throughout the summer until August 9th. When you register, you'll receive a tote bag, a free T-shirt (while supplies last), a book, some fun goodies, and your reading log and activity card to help you track your reading and participation. Every Tuesday, both branches will host exciting performers ranging from science experiments to magicians to live animals — there’s something for everyone! As you read and take part in activities, you’ll earn raffle tickets for a chance to win one of our art-themed grand prize baskets. The more you read and engage, the more chances you have to win. Come join the fun and help us color our world with reading this summer!
Summer Reading Preview
Come out and join us for special early performances on June 23rd to build excitement for our Summer Reading Program, which officially kicks off on June 28th! Story Tapestries will be at the Princess Anne Branch at 11 AM, where attendees will explore the colors, sounds, art, and stories of the world through an engaging performance. Little ones will also receive a fun art and literacy kit after the show! Later that day, the Delmarva Discovery Museum will visit the Crisfield Branch at 2 PM to discuss some of the local animals that inhabit the Delmarva region — featuring a special appearance by one of their animal ambassadors!

Summer Reading 2025 Kickoff Party!

Help us celebrate our official kickoff to our Summer Reading program! Join us for food, a photo booth, temporary tattoos, and tie dye pouches. Sign up for the program at any time and get a free shirt, for all ages, while supplies last.

Enjoy face painting, snow cones, music, prizes & more! our Summer Reading grand prizes will be raffled for all ages!
Fabulous Prizes
Our grand prizes this year include three different raffle baskets for each age group: Littles (ages 0–5), Kids (6–12), Teens (13–17), and Adults (18+). You can earn raffle tickets by reading, attending programs, and participating in Summer Reading performances. Use your Reading Log and Activity Card to track your progress throughout the summer. Adults and Teens will receive 1 ticket for every book read, while Littles and Kids will earn 1 ticket and a prize from the prize bin for every 5 books read. Just show your reading log to a staff member to get a fun artsy stamp on their log and pick a prize!
For all age groups, each completed activity on the Activity Card earns 1 ticket. Complete all activities on your card to receive a bonus of 10 tickets! Everyone will receive one Activity Card for the summer. Once it's complete, return it to the front desk to claim your earned tickets — all cards must be turned in by August 9th.
Grand prize raffle basket winners will be announced at our Finale Party on August 16th. Don’t miss your chance to win and celebrate a summer full of reading and fun!
